Mark Zuckerberg takes on a home automation project code named “Jarvis”.
Jarvis, lights please! *As you wish.* Ohh yeah. You know where this is going. Hello and welcome back to 2n2tech. I’m your host Bryan Pedrazzoli. And who doesn’t want an automation AI system built into their homes? Hmm. I know I do. And I know the CEO and Co-Founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg does as well. In fact that is one of his new years resolution of 2016. He said in one of his blogs, “My goal was to learn about the state of artificial intelligence — where we’re further along than people realize and where we’re still a long ways off.” So how far did he manage to go? Well in one of his post he build a simple AI system called Jarvis. Right after the Iron Man movie. By using natural language processing speech, facial recognition, and reinforcement learning. Can control his homes lights, temperature, security, music, and appliances. Mark Zuckerberg and Jarvis communicate via a program called messenger bot. Which is a program installed on his phone. Jarvis keeps him notified if anyone’s at the door and opens it if the AI recognizes who you are. Mr. Zuckerberg did how ever hit a few speed bumps along the way. He was disappointed that some of his appliances aren’t smart and connected. And the ones that are use different languages and protocols. This made coding his AI system more difficult. So we’re not at Tony Starks level Jarvis yet but, we’re getting close. If you’re interested and more about Mr. Zuckerbergs slow progression to his home automation AI I’ll link some of the articles in the description down below.
